Hey and welcome to what’s rattling around in my head. Just to give you an idea of who I am – here are some basics.
I have married to my amazing wife for 15 years and we have four kids. Our youngest daughter is adopted from the People’s Republic of China so stop trying to figure out which one of us she looks like.
I am a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma about half-way through my PhD in Sociology, studying global poverty and development. When I finish I want to work to alleviate poverty in the developing world and to call the Church to join that effort.
I am also part of a beautiful community of people following Jesus together called Jacob’s Well. We have been exploring faith and life together since 2002. If you’re around South OKC on a Sunday night, we would love for you to join us.
Finally, I do web design and some photography to pay a bill or two around here. Not that I don’t break the bank working as a TA.
Maybe just a few things more. . .
I read, I play games, I play with my kids, I goof around with music, I love being outside, I take way too many pictures, I chase God. I think and read about theology and sociology and economics and globalisation and pop culture and anything else that catches my eye. I am fascinated by China, perpetually frustrated by the Cubs, in pursuit of life with Jesus, and hopeful that the world will be better when I leave it because I was here.
That’s a start. The rest should reveal itself in the posts to come.
So – who are you?
