Me

Hey there. My name is J and I’m responsible for what gets thrown around in this particular corner of the vast series of tubes that is the internets. I’m a husband, a dad of four amazing kids, a follower of Jesus, and a PhD student in sociology at the University of Oklahoma. I love books, photography, movies, sports, playing with my kids, and riding my bike.

The idea behind “limitedvista” is twofold:
1) Every one of us sees the world from a perspective. We can’t help it. And that perspective is limited. While I try to see multiple sides, ultimately I am constrained by who I am, where I’ve been, and what I’ve seen / learned along the way.
2) There is always something else to see just beyond the edge of our perception. This is something I’ve learned through photography. I want to capture what I can, knowing that I can never get it all in. Hopefully, this brings humility. Although I find I’m not very good at that sort of thing.

So this is my spot to talk about things I care about and keep track of cool (to me) stuff that I run into along the way. Feel free to say hi or to disagree – all I ask is that we all play nice. That’s isn’t so hard, is it?
